SLAVEN BILIC says he will not beg players to join West Ham.
The Hammers boss has been linked with Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony, Juventus’ Simone Zaza and Chelsea ace Loic Remy after pulling the plug on a bid to sign AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca.
Bilic’s side host Romanians Astra Giurgiu in the second leg of their Europa League play-off tonight with the tie in the balance at 1-1.
He said: “I wanted Bacca but I don’t want to drag players to West Ham. We are not Real Madrid or Manchester United but we are a proud club with players who are proud to play for us.
“Lots of players want to come to West Ham. They are calling e every day.
“So I was the one who said there was no point continuing with Bacca.
“We are not going to beg anyone to join us.”
One man who is set to sign is FC Sion attacking midfielder Edimilson Fernandes, 20, for £5.5million.
