Man Utd flops shocked after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives them week off with under-fire boss ‘to keep job for Watford game’
MANCHESTER UNITED’S squad and staff were reportedly surprised to be given the week off by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The under-fire manager of the Red Devils was spotted yesterday as he prepared to fly back to Norway with his family.
Last Saturday’s defeat to City in the Manchester derby piled even more pressure on Solskjaer.
It left United in sixth-place in the Premier League and already nine points behind leaders Chelsea after just 11 matches.
But with most of United’s squad on international duty, Solskjaer opted to give the players and his backroom team a break rather than putting on extra training for them.
The claims that was ‘unexpected considering the crisis at Old Trafford’ with six losses from their last 12 games.
Solskjaer was snapped at Manchester airport with his sons Noah and Elijah and wife Silje on Monday.
They were ready to board a private jet back to his hometown of Kristiansund.

Despite their dreadful run of form, United indicated again yesterday that his job is not under immediate threat.
And Solskjaer, 48, is also expected to be in charge for the home clash with Watford on Saturday 20 November.
He is sweating on a number of key players - which makes the decision to dish out the time off a little more puzzling.
Defensive summer signing Raphael Varane arrived at United's HQ yesterday to get treatment on his hamstring injury.
Forward Marcus Rashford is also due to train at Carrington over the coming days despite pulling out of England's squad.
The ace has not completed a full game since his return from shoulder surgery and also came down with flu last week.
However, neither Solskjaer or any of his other players have been seen at the training ground since the City setback.
