Ronaldo's new job with Los Blancos will begin in September, according to .

He has been linked with a sensational return to the club for a number of years now but has had his hands tied with other sporting events such as the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Ronaldo cemented himself as arguably the greatest ever striker in Madrid after signing from Inter Milan for £36.3million.

He was named Fifa World Player of the Year three times - in 1996, 1997 and 2002 - during his time at the club.

The striker began his career in Cruzeiro in 1993, going on to play for PSV, Barcelona, Inter, Real, Milan and finishing at Corinthians.

Ronaldo made 177 appearances for Madrid and scored 104 goals to write himself in the club's history books.

He recently snubbed namesake Cristiano when picking a best all-time XI in favour of Barca arch-nemesis Lionel Messi - and himself!
