WEST HAM co-owner is doing everything possible to secure new players for boss Slaven Bilic – even if he has to wheel and deal from his hospital bed.

His son David Sullivan Jr shared a picture on social media of his father laid up in bed on his mobile late last night claiming he was conducting business for West Ham.

It was the second time the former Birmingham City owner has undergone heart surgery having previously undergone a quadruple heart bypass in 1994.

Of course, fans cannot be sure that it was a star name on the other end of the phone, but Sullivan Jr is convinced that the call was an attempt at recruiting a new Hammer.

Sullivan Jr said on Twitter: “Dads just had heart surgery woke up from operation and is straight back on the phone to sign more players.”

The need for reinforcements in Bilic’s squad is massive due to the club’s current injury crisis.

Eight senior players, including new signing Andre Ayew and striker Andy Carroll, are currently crocked.

And with the Hammers fighting on four fronts this season, including the Europa League, the need to strengthen is huge.
