And a source close to the  believes the deal is all but done.

Judge broke his leg in April against Ipswich but is expected back in November.

The former Notts County ace scored 15 and set up 11 as he was voted the third best player in the Championship last time out.

Newcastle could snap up Judge on the cheap given his contract at Griffin Park is up at the end of the season.

His preferred position is central midfield but the attack-minded player can also operate on both wings.

The Magpies have lacked a creative midfielder since the departure of Yohan Cabaye in January 2014.

Meanwhile, French flop Henri Saivet, 25, has agreed to join Saint Etienne on loan.
