West Ham and Bournemouth fans clash in ugly scenes at London Stadium
An incident occurred after the Hammers had secured a late 1-0 win over the Cherries thanks to Michail Antonio's goal
WEST HAM and Bournemouth fans clashed outside the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The two sets of supporters came to blows after the Hammers' 1-0 win over the Cherries.
As you can see in the video above, one fan can be heard pleading to nearby stewards to step in as the violence escalated, saying: "You need to step in."
Another so-called supporter can clearly be heard shouting: "Let's have them West Ham. Get on them, West Ham."
As one outbreak of mindless violence gets close to one fan they are heard screaming: "What are you doing you f***ing mug?"
The pockets of fighting emerged outside West Ham's London Stadium in what was the club's first home Premier League game in their new home.
Michail Antonio won all three points for the Hammers by hitting the only goal of the game five minutes from time.
Punches and kicks were thrown during the melee and verbal abuse could clearly be heard.
West Ham have since condemned the incident.
They said in a statement: "West Ham United condemn unreservedly the behaviour of a small minority of individuals in an isolated incident following the fixture against AFC Bournemouth.
"That kind of behaviour has no place at in football and we will work with the police and other stakeholders to review the incidents and take action against anyone found guilty of violence, disorder, threatening behaviour, or abuse."
Captain Wayne Rooney said at the time: "It wasn’t nice. Our coach got smashed up. I’m sure you will see the images. Of course it’s disappointing."
Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan said at the time: “There were people around the coach but there was no attack on it.
"If you check the coach there won’t be any damage to it.
"I don’t understand why United couldn’t get here at four o’clock. They knew it was our last game here. It is depressing really."
