Now, according to the , boss Slaven Bilic wants Bony to bridge the cap in attack while he waits for Ayew and Carroll to return, with Bony already having an agreement in place to move onto a Chinese club in January.

He has already attempted to offload crocked striker Diafra Sakho to West Brom this summer before the £15m move fell through due to the player's back injury.

Speaking after Michail Antonio's goal gave his team a victory in their first match at the Olympic Stadium, Bilic said: “It leaves a big question mark and a big frustration with these things that keep happening to him.

“The worst situation is when you plan around a player and make a big circle around him and say ‘he’s the one’ and then you can’t count on him all the time.
