MANCHESTER UNITED warned the vultures circling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: He’s safe.
Leading agents have offered their services to find Solskjaer’s potential successor — but have been told the club has no intention of sacking the Norwegian.
A number of players remain far less convinced than Old Trafford chiefs that Solskjaer is the right man to take the Red Devils forward.
As SunSport revealed on Saturday, Cristiano Ronaldo unleashed a Fergie-style half-time hairdryer on his team-mates when United trailed 2-0 to Atalanta on Wednesday.
And Bruno Fernandes told Solskjaer he needed to change his tactics in the second half.
A source said: “It sounds like the inmates have taken over.”
The thrilling 3-2 comeback win against Atalanta eased some of the pressure on Solskjaer but changed nothing about the overall mood of the dressing room.
Solskjaer’s tactical nous and his ability to mould a consistent, cohesive team out of a squad of superstars remain in question.

Another well-placed source said: “The message is not clear.
“There is confusion in the team, players don’t understand what the tactics are.
“There’s no team, it’s just individuals and there are big problems in the defence.”
Ronaldo scored the winner on Wednesday night after asserting his authority at the break.
It is understood some United players would like the Portugal legend to have a bigger and more regular role as a link between dressing room and coaching staff.

But Ronaldo is content to let club captain Harry Maguire act as the main mouthpiece for the players and does not want to be seen to be critical of Solskjaer.
The United boss also forcefully rejected claims he fell out with Marcus Rashford over his comment that the England forward 'should maybe prioritise his football'.
He insisted he was not criticising his extensive off-field campaigning against child poverty.
