Ruthless Chelsea ‘did not want to stop’ scoring as Tuchel admits ‘feeling horrible’ for Norwich boss Farke after 7-0 win

THOMAS TUCHEL admitted 'feeling horrible' for Norwich boss Daniel Farke as Chelsea 'did not want to stop' scoring in their 7-0 thrashing.

Norwich travel 100 miles home rock bottom in the Premier League, while the Blues maintained top spot after nine matches played.

Chelsea were already 3-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from academy stars Mason Mount, 22, Callum Hudson-Odoi, 20, and Reece James, 21.

But a strike from Ben Chilwell, 24, Max Aaron's own goal and two more from Mount saw the league leaders ruthlessly hammer Norwich.

Tuchel once worked with Farke at Borussia Dortmund and could not help but admit feeling sorry for his old friend.

He told BT Sport: “The focus was that we keep the same intensity and we create opportunities.

"This is what we demanded. You need luck to score and you need the moment. That’s why I’m happy because the intensity was high and the rhythm was high.

“I feel very sorry because we did not stop and we didn’t want to stop. We said at half-time we wanted to keep going.

"It feels horrible for Daniel today – I hope he keeps his head up and puts his team back on track. He deserves it and he’s a good guy.”

Chelsea have now won their last three league matches since losing to champions Manchester City in September.

But with Southampton to come in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, Tuchel warned his players not to rest of their laurels to make sure they maintain their winning form.

He said: “We played a good performance. We were sharp and put in a lot of effort.

"We pressed high and won many balls, we played with a high rhythm and created a lot of chances.

"To score seven you also need a bit of luck and momentum, but it was a good effort.

“This is just one game, the next one follows on Tuesday evening. The players deserve all the credit, but it’s also only one game."
