Man Utd icon Patrice Evra claims Ballon d’Or is ‘ROTTEN’ if Lionel Messi wins award and picks Jorginho or Kante instead
PATRICE EVRA is "fed up" with Lionel Messi constantly winning the Ballon d'Or and wants to see a new victor this year.
The prestigious award will be given out in November and six-time winner Messi is the current favourite.
Other front-runners for the award are Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah, who scored yet another brilliant goal against Watford on Saturday.
But Evra believes Chelsea pair Jorginho and N'Golo Kante deserve it - they won the Champions League this year with Jorginho also winning Euro 2020 with Italy.
Evra said on : "I'm fed up; it's rotten that they [might] give it to Leo Messi.
"In my opinion, the Ballon d'Or has to go to Jorginho or Kante.
"What are they going to tell me he did this year? Winning the Copa America, well, that's fine. But say what he did all year with Barcelona."
Italy boss Roberto Mancini is in agreement with the former Manchester United player.

He claimed it would be "strange" if Jorginho was not crowned the best footballer of the year.
But as Evra acknowledges, Messi did finally end his wait for silverware with Argentina as he won the Copa America.
Messi has also scored 38 goals this year and won the Copa del Rey with Barcelona.
But he has struggled for form since his summer move to Paris Saint-Germain.
He has one goal in five games for his new side although that was a stunning effort which sealed a big win over Manchester City in the Champions League.
