The Borussia Dortmund striker somehow managed to balance three footballs on top of each other, carefully placing them in position.

At the first attempt, the second ball rolled off - giving the impression he managed to get the physics just right next time around.

With the three footballs seemingly standing freely, he took a few paces back and then stepped up to sidefoot the top ball into a target in the top left corner with that lethal left foot of his.

The other two balls remained perfectly stacked up - and Haaland, kitted out in full Dortmund gear, repeated the trick twice more to obliterate the target and reacted in apparent shock at pulling it off.

The Bundesliga's official Twitter account posted the 38-second clip on Thursday afternoon and within four hours it had racked up 5.5million views.

But while it looked mightily impressive, fans on social media were not sure whether the shots were quite as authentic as they appeared.

One wrote: "The fact that none of the balls fell off when he hit the top one is… hard to believe."

Another said: "Go down your local sports shop at opening time. Try and balance 3 footballs in a pile. You won't manage it before they close. He's allegedly done it in 5 seconds."

And a third added: "There is no way you could balance three balls on top of each other like that. Erling, of course, did it anyway. Because Erling doesn’t care what humans think is impossible."

Haaland has not played competitively since September 19 due to injury.

But before being sidelined, he smashed in a staggering 16 goals in just 11 appearances for club and country.

The Norwegian continues to be linked with a transfer away from Dortmund, with the two Manchester clubs among the frontrunners for his signature.

But team-mate Mats Hummels warned the striker against rushing into a move and regretting it.

The defender said: "I can fully understand him if he wants to stay!

"Because it’s great in Dortmund, because he knows what he’s got here. I haven’t given up hope that he’ll stay for a long time.

“The grass on the other hand is not always greener. You really should be aware of that in football.

“It’s worth a lot if you have a good environment, and you feel comfortable with the boys, too."
