RYAN SESSEGNON is one of English football's most exciting youngsters, with a host of top clubs after him - and now Manchester City are the latest to enter the race for the Fulham defender.

Sessegnon, who only turned 16 in May so was born AFTER the millennium, made an impressive league debut at left-back for the Cottagers against Leeds in midweek - as has been nicknamed the new Gareth Bale.

The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United have all made enquiries with the Gunners having an offer rejected this year.

Sessegnon is English and an U17 international who can play in a further forward with his impressive pace, tricky footwork and direct running.

Spurs were reportedly willing to pay £3million for him after just one league game, but Fulham boss Slaviša Jokanović is urging Sessegnon to continue his development at Fulham.

He said: "He’s one of the Fulham project. He had a great pre-season. Ryan Sessegnon is a talented boy.

“I’m sure he’ll participate in the competitions this year. We have to assess him and we have to help him.

“He’s still working in the Championship with competition from other players. He’s still a boy so he needs to grow up.

“We have to care about him. I believe in the future he’ll be an important player in English football. This boy needs time.”
