As it stands Steve Bruce remains in position at St James' Park.

According to the , two former England midfield colleagues could be set to battle it out for the post.
They claim that Gerrard, 41, would be a popular choice - having won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers last term.
The former Liverpool man is happy in Scotland, they add, and would take some 'persuading' to leave Ibrox for the Premier League.
Lampard, 43, is also mentioned as holding a 'definite interest' in the post.
But his experience is questioned, despite having led a young Chelsea side to a top four finish in his one full season as a Prem boss.

Bruce himself would like to be handed the opportunity to continue, with his next match set to be his 1,000th as a manager.
But the 60-year-old will understand if his services are no longer required.
He told the : "I want to continue, I’d like the chance to show the new owners what I can do, but you have to be realistic and they may well want a new manager to launch things for them.
