Man City ‘well positioned’ to sign ex-Man Utd transfer target Pau Torres after scouting Villarreal star for ‘long time’
MANCHESTER CITY are believed to be ‘well positioned’ ro sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The Spaniard, 24, already has a host of admirers from the Premier League.
Tottenham and Man United have both been linked with a swoop for the ace over the past year.
Now are claiming that champions City have also been scouting the centre-half 'for a long time' and that they are 'well positioned' to sign him.
The report states that Pep Guardiola’s outfit have already made contact with Torres' entourage during the summer.
And he could now be planning on making a move to add the star to his ranks.
Torres is believed to be available for around £55m but has already snubbed a switch to Spurs.
Meanwhile, Guardiola is already stacked with central defensive options with Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nathan Ake already on board.

However, the Cityzens know that due to the fierce competition within their ranks that some individuals may want to leave in order to get regular action.
Laporte was linked with an exit over the last transfer window after he fell behind both Dias and Stones in the pecking order.
Now Stones is the man struggling to get a kick as he has yet to play a single minute for City this term.
Torres made 44 appearances for Villarreal last term as he helped Unai Emery's side win the Europa League.
He also featured for Spain at the Tokyo Olympics and won the silver medal.
