Ek attempted a £2billion takeover in April.

And he managed to recruit Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp for his plot.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football back in May, Henry confirmed his involvement in the consortium spearheaded by the Swedish billionaire - worth more than £4bn.

Henry said: "It is true.

"Daniel [Ek] is an Arsenal fan. He did not say it for any publicity, he has been an Arsenal fan for a very long time.

"He approached us, we listened to him. And we knew, first and foremost, that he wanted to involve the fans.

"He wants to re-inject the Arsenal DNA, the identity that I think is long gone.

"They don't have a lot of Arsenal people among the board who can show the right direction, and that's what Daniel wants to do.

"He already reached out and said himself that he has collected the funds to put in a good bid.

"A lot of people have been screaming that they want the owner out...

"We are trying to offer a solution, involving the fans and the DNA back at the club."

But after the dust appeared to settle on the purchasing plans, Henry and Ek were pictured together in the crowd at the Emirates.

And they had plenty to celebrate.

Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka fired the Gunners into a 3-0 first-half lead - with Son Heung-min grabbing a consolation after the break.

And Auba even celebrated his tidy finish by coping Henry's iconic knee slide across the turf.
