Tottenham star Hugo Lloris to miss Liverpool clash after being ruled out for four weeks with hamstring injury
Goalkeeper is a key man for Mauricio Pochettino and will also sit out this weekend's London derby against Crystal Palace
TOTTENHAM star Hugo Lloris has been ruled out of action for four weeks.
The goalkeeper picked up a hamstring injury in the opening day draw against Everton and will miss matches against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
Lloris is a vital player for Mauricio Pochettino, and the Argentine manager will now turn to Michel Vorm as his man between the sticks.
A Tottenham statement confirmed: “Following further assessment and scans of the left hamstring injury sustained by Hugo Lloris in the 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday, we can confirm he is expected to be out of action for around four weeks.
“Our captain left the field during the first half at Goodison Park and our medical team will continue to monitor his progress during his rehabilitation to determined when he will be ready to return to training.”
Captain Lloris joined Tottenham from Lyon in 2012 and has gone to make 168 appearances for the north London outfit.
The 29-year-old - who captained France during Euro 2016 - still has three years left to run on his current deal and was linked with a move to Manchester United when Real Madrid tried to sign David De Gea.
