Everton transfer news: Newcastle talisman Moussa Sissoko targeted by the Toffees – but Inter, Dortmund and Palace are interested
EVERTON have opened negotiations for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, with representatives reportedly in Paris.
The Toffees are said to have opened talks with the player's agent, as representatives are confirmed to be in Paris by French newspaper l'Equipe.
Sissoko, 26, is desperate to leave Saint James' Park after last season's fall down, as the club was relegated to the Championship.
But Everton would need to match Newcastle's £35million valuation to secured his services.
Nevertheless, clubs around Europe are interested in signing the midfielder but the £35m price tag is quite the issue.
Borussia Dortmund, Crystal Palace or Real Madrid are considering a move, while Inter Milan have just joined the queue today with the Toffees.
The German side Dortmund are looking to strengthen their squad before the Bundesliga season starts next week, although they signed the highly rated 18-year-old Ousmane Dembélé from French club Rennes this summer.
Inter Milan are looking to re-build a team under new boss Frank De Boer, as he jumped in the hot seat after Roberto Mancini was sacked following a 6-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in pre-season.
Crystal Palace are ready to spend the £25million that they earned with the transfer of Yannick Bolasie to Everton this week, but the Toffees are still looking to add to their squad to please new boss Ronald Koeman.
Sissoko is still in Roberto Martinez's plans but he has made LaLiga his first choice, dreaming to be coached by Zinedine Zidane at Madrid.
He told the BBC: “I hope Real will come for me, I'm still waiting. If Real Madrid are interested in you then of course you will be happy, but right now I am still a Newcastle player.
"I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else.
"I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League. That's why I said I want to leave this year.
"I've spent a lot of time here and now it's time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK."
