Cristiano Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr ‘set to play for Man Utd academy as team-mate of Wayne Rooney’s kid Kai’
CRISTIANO RONALDO'S son is set to play in Manchester United's academy set-up alongside Wayne Rooney's kid Kai.
Cristiano Jr, 11, has been with Juventus' academy since 2018, with Ronaldo Sr revealing back then that he hoped his son would become a footballer.
"I would love for him to be a footballer, because he feels passion for this sport," Ronaldo told DAZN. "He is a competitor and he hates losing."
Rooney's son Kai - who is also 11 years old - linked up with the Man Utd academy last year and has already bagged his first hat-trick.
Now, according to , Cristiano Jr and Kai are set to become teammates in United's Under-12s side for the upcoming campaign.
They aren't the first children of famous players to go into the academy, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's boys joining during his time at the club and Robbie Savage's son Charlie currently coming through the ranks.
The news of Cristiano Jr and Kai teaming up comes following Ronaldo Sr's shock return to Old Trafford 12 years after he left the club to join Real Madrid.
During his six-year spell with Man Utd he linked up superbly with Rooney as the pair won three Premier League titles in a row between 2007 and 2009.
And Rooney spoke glowingly about his former Portuguese teammate following his move back to the Red Devils.

He told : "Cristiano is still one of the best players in the world and has won titles everywhere he’s been so he’s going to be huge.
"He still wants to be the best and I'm sure he will have a big impact on them this season.
"Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] will certainly know that he's in a position now where he needs to start winning these big titles with the players that he's brought in.
"For their development, to get to the next step now is to start winning titles."
He later added: "Hopefully Cristiano can come in and show what he has done in his career.
"I am sure he likes all the talk about being old. Make it personal and he will show what he can do.";
Ronaldo has four children of which 11-year-old Cristiano Jr is the eldest.

His other three children are four-year-old twins Eva and Mateo and three-year-old Alana Martina.
Ronaldo is in a long-term relationship with model Georgina Rodriguez, 27, who is the mother to his youngest child Alana Martina.
Meanwhile, Rooney has four sons with 35-year-old wife Coleen - Kai, 11, Klay, 8, Kit, 5, and Cass, 3.
Ronaldo spoke passionately about his return to Old Trafford when the move was officially confirmed on Tuesday.
He said: "The years I spent in this club were absolutely amazing and the path we’ve made together is written in gold letters in the history of this great and amazing institution.
"I can’t even start to explain my feelings right now, as I see my return to Old Trafford announced worldwide.
"It’s like a dream come true, after all the times that I went back to play against Man United, and even as an opponent, to have always felt such love and respect from the supporters in the stands.
