Juve confirmed on their website that the Red Devils would pay just £12.8million over FIVE years for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner - who completed his Red Devils medical over the weekend.

This fee could potentially rise by a further £6.8m, depending on add-ons.

Juve also wrote of the 'incredible journey' that they shared with the Portuguese football icon, after going their 'separate ways'.

Their mentions the 'unforgettable moments' that the club shared with Ronaldo.

And it concluded: "Today that bond born on July 10, three years ago, has been dissolved, but what has been written will forever remain. It has been an incredible journey."

Ronaldo's Man United return emerged on Friday, after Manchester City had pursued the former Old Trafford favourite.

The Red Devils stole in ahead of their rivals to seal the deal, with the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Bruno Fernandes, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand all playing a part in charming their old mate.

He missed Sunday's 1-0 win over Wolves, having already headed off to Portugal for international duty.

But he is expected to return against Newcastle United after the international break.

In total for Juventus, Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 133 appearances, making his final outing during the 2-2 draw with Udinese little over a week ago.

Having sealed his Old Trafford return, Ronaldo is set to play as a centre-forward, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed.

And he will be paid handsomely to do so, earning a weekly wage of around £480,000-a-week.
