Real Madrid confirm £26m transfer for Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes after beating Man Utd to French wonderkid
REAL MADRID have signed Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga in a deal reportedly worth up to £34.3million.
The central midfielder, 18, was a target for both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United but has now agreed a long-term deal with Los Blancos.
The Spanish giants officially announced the signing of Camavinga from Rennes on Tuesday evening - just hours before the deadline.
The three-cap France international has penned a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, committing his long-term future to the club.
According to , Real have paid an initial €31m - around £26.6m - for Camavinga's services.
It's believed the deal is worth €40m in add-ons, which converts to £34.3m.
Camavinga completed his medical on Monday night and it's understood the paperwork was signed several hours ago.
The player is expected to be added to manager Carlo Ancelotti's squad immediately and NOT loaned back to Rennes for the rest of the season.

That means he could make his Real debut against Celta Vigo on September 12 following the international break.
Camavinga came through the academy at Rennes, becoming the club's youngest professional when he made his debut aged 16.
A number of clubs have been interested in signing the midfield ace throughout the summer.
Camavinga had one year left on his Rennes deal and looked destined to leave the club after rejecting an extension.
The rising star was kept out of the starting XI for the last five Rennes games to ensure a transfer could go through before the deadline.
Speaking earlier this summer, his manager Bruno Genesio was confident everything would be sorted before the window closes.
He said: "We have already stressed several times that we cannot afford to remain in this situation concerning an international player like him.
"It’s part of a career to have important decisions to make, he has a very important one (decision) to make for his future, and we at the club also have our interests to defend.
"I hope we find a solution that everyone is satisfied with."
Camavinga made his senior France debut aged just 17 last September and produced a moment of magic a month later to score his first international goal with a stunning overhead kick.
