Gary Lineker has Y-fronts laid out as he prepares to present Match of the Day in his pants

BBC release image of former England striker's underwear hanging alongside suits for pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer

GARY LINEKER has received a helping hand from the BBC’s wardrobe department as they prepared some freshly-ironed Y-fronts ahead of the season’s opening Match of the Day show.

The presenter is set to make good on a promise he made last year after losing a bet that Leicester would win the Premier League title.

Former England striker Lineker, who has presented MotD since 1999, vowed on social media that he would present the first episode of the popular show in his underwear should his favourite club defy the odds of 5000/1 to win the title.

Leicester were Premier League champions last season

Claudio Ranieri’s men did just that, and as the countdown to the season continues, the Beed have released a teaser image to remind him of his promise.

The picture showed a pair of white pants hanging beneath Lineker's peg - alongside a set of suits reserved for pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer.

Lineker also added to the suspense as he shared an Instagram picture of him working out in the gym, along with the caption: “Prep #MOTD #pants #gym #thatprotein”.

When quizzed previously about the bet, Lineker said: “Me and my big mouth. It was a tweet actually way back in December when I was getting excited about Leicester's progress.

“I categorically knew that there was no chance of Leicester winning the league.”
