Inter Milan make offer for Leicester target Gabriel Barbosa as Santos wait on striker’s decision before negotiating

GABRIEL BARBOSA is considering a bid from Inter Milan, confirms Santos’ chairman.

The Brazil striker is a target for many European heavyweights such as Chelsea, Juventus, Leicester and Barcelona.

Barbosa is currently on Olympics duty with Brazil

However, Modesto Roma revealed they are considering an offer from the Nerazzurri — thought to be around £25million.

He said: “I can confirm that Santos has an offer from Inter and now we are all waiting a final decision from the player and his family.

“It really depends on them, so if they give the OK, we will start negotiations with Inter to finalise [the transfer].

When pressed if a deal would likely take place after the Olympics, Roma added: “Probably, yes. We are waiting.”

New Inter boss Frank De Boer could be in the market striker as captain, Mauro Icardi, nears a move to Napoli.

Brazil reached the quarter-finals in Rio de Janeiro after Barbosa — affectionately known as Gabigol — scored two in a 4-0 victory over Denmark.

The 19-year-old was the previously the subject of a £16.8m bid from Juventus, which was accepted by Santos.

While Leicester offered £23m to bring Gabigol to the Premier League.

However, Barcelona reportedly have first option and are thought to have bid £17m for the striker.

Gabigol was thought to be waiting for the Catalans to make a bid, but has so far not accepted any offer.

Antonio Conte was keen to bring him to Chelsea earlier in the window, but the Blues’ interest has since cooled.
