Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool face trip to Burton while Chelsea wait to discover which Bristol side they will face
How the second round looks in the English Football League Cup as top-flight sides join the competition
Chelsea will will welcome one of the Bristol sides to Stamford Bridge and Liverpool will travel to Burton in the second round of the EFL Cup.
Due to their 10th place finish in the Premier League last season, Antonio Conte's men are without European football, meaning they enter at this stage of the competition for this first time since 1996.
With the seeding stipulations in the competition, they will not discover their opponents until Thursday evening. Should Cardiff City beat Bristol Rovers tomorrow, then Bristol City will travel to Chelsea. If Rovers win then it will be them who make the trip to Stamford Bridge, with City travelling to Scunthorpe.
All eyes will be Klopp's men, who were beaten in the final by Manchester City last season, when they head to Burton's 6,900-capacity Pirelli Stadium.
And elsewhere in the draw, Luton Town's reward for upsetting Aston Villa is a home tie with Leeds.
