Marina Granovskaia opens door to Tammy Abraham Chelsea return after inserting £68m buy-back clause in Roma deal
CHELSEA chief Marina Granovskaia has opened the door for Tammy Abraham’s return after inserting a £68million buy-back clause into his Roma transfer.
The England striker, 23, completed his move to the Italian capital today for £34million.
Abraham became Roma’s top target after Edin Dzeko joined rivals Inter Milan.
And the Cobham academy product will wear the No9 under new boss Jose Mourinho, having failed to win over Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea have already landed a replacement in £97.5m club-record signing Romelu Lukaku.
But the Blues have ensured there’s a way of bringing Abraham back to Stamford Bridge should he fire Roma to glory.
Chelsea will be able to trigger a clause, starting from the summer of 2023, to re-sign Abraham for £68m - double his Roma transfer fee.
And club director Granovskaia revealed the forward will always be given a warm welcome back in London.

“His many goals in a Chelsea shirt and, of course, his part in our Champions League triumph last season will never be forgotten.
“I’m sure all Chelsea supporters will join me in wishing Tammy a long and successful career.”
Abraham, who scored 30 goals in 82 games for Chelsea, admits he’s delighted to be linking up with Mourinho in a new country.
The hitman, who scored a combined 60 goals in loan spells at Bristol City, Swansea and Aston Villa, beamed: “You can sense when a club really wants you - and Roma made their interest clear immediately.

“Roma is a club that deserves to be fighting for titles and trophies. I’ve had the experience of winning major trophies and I want to be in those competitions again.
