LIONEL MESSI was given a spine-tingling introduction to Paris Saint-Germain fans today.
Flare-waving supporters flocked to the Parc des Princes to catch a glimpse of their new hero and made him feel more than welcome.
The former Barcelona superstar, 34, officially completed his move to the French capital on Tuesday night, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
Just 30 minutes after the announcement, 'Messi 30' jerseys had sold out online.
Supporters took to the streets as they swarmed to the club shop in a desperate bid to get their hands on the little piece of history.
The queue weaved its way through the streets of the French capital with a few lucky fans able to walk away with a 'Messi 30' top.
But nearby, other fans had descended on the Parc des Princes to see their new hero in the flesh.
Messi was unveiled as a PSG player with a press conference on Wednesday morning, before heading outside to greet the adoring masses.
Fans waved flags and clutched red flares above their heads as the Argentine made his way to the podium.
Despite having played on the biggest stages in world football for more than 17 years, Messi looked a little overwhelmed as he looked over a sea of blue and red.
The moment I arrived here I felt very happy.
Messi on joining PSG
Earlier in the day, Messi revealed he was itching to get started at his new home after over 20 years at Barcelona, saying: “I am very happy.
"You all know about my exit from Barcelona and it has been a very hard moment after so many years.
"It was a difficult change after so long a time.
“But the moment I arrived here I felt very happy and I really want to begin the training sessions, I want it to be quick.
“My only will now is to begin the training sessions. I want to work with the staff and team-mates and begin this new moment of my life."
