Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signs new three-year Man Utd deal to stay as manager at Old Trafford until 2024
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has extended his Manchester United contract with a new three-year deal, it has been confirmed.
The club legend, who won the Champions League and Premier League as a player, will now be at Old Trafford until 2024, with an option for a further year.
He said: “Everyone knows the feeling I have for this club, and I am delighted to have signed this new contract.
"It is an exciting time for Manchester United, we have built a squad with a good balance of youth and experienced players that are hungry for success.
“I have a fantastic coaching team around me, and we are all ready to take that next step on our journey.
"Manchester United wants to be winning the biggest and best trophies and that’s what we are all striving for.
"We have improved, both on and off the pitch, and that will continue over the coming seasons.
“I can’t wait to get out in front of a packed Old Trafford and get this campaign started.”
Solskjaer returned to United in 2019 after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, initially as caretaker manager.
But after impressing in the hot seat, he was handed a permanent contract and last season completed his first full campaign in charge.

The Norwegian guided United to a second-placed league finish, coming runners-up to rivals City.
And they faced further heartbreak after losing on penalties to Villarreal in the Europa League final.
But still, the impressive domestic and European run has convinced Old Trafford chiefs to put their trust in Solskjaer even further with a new deal.
It caps off an incredible week for the United manager, who has finally signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The England forward, 21, arrived for £73million, a year after seeing a move to Manchester collapse with Dortmund holding out for £108m.
But after ending the long-drawn out transfer saga, Solskjaer told : “He’s such a creative, positive winger and forward player.
"He can play wide, nip into the pockets and he excites the fans.
He takes people on one-against-one, he creates chances, he works hard and he loves football.
"And there is some untapped talent there I am sure, and coming into this environment will help him improve as well.”
