Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to have his wages doubled as Frenchman set to rake in £5million through 2016-17

Former midfielder will take home bumper pay day after his Champions League-winning 2015-16 campaign with Galacticos

REAL MADRID boss Zinedine Zidane is set to have his wages doubled to a whopping £5million for the coming season.

The Galacticos chief, 44, took home £2.5m last season, but following a successful campaign in which Real won the Champions League at the expense of cross-town rivals Atletico, Zizou is set for a bumper pay-day.

Despite the massive boost in his pay packet, Zidane is still streets behind former manager Carlo Ancelotti - who raked in £6.5m per campaign.

The French boss only took over the reins at the Bernabeu in January, signing a contract the following month.

His contract runs until 2018, and the doubling in wages was stipulated in the original agreement.
