MANCHESTER CITY new boys Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan arrived to training at the Etihad campus together on Wednesday.

The German duo are both part of new Etihad chief Pep Guardiola's revolution in Eastlands.

And former Borussia Dortmund man Gundogan has clearly already made a friend in compatriot Sane, as he drove him to training in his Mercedes.

The pair arrived at the Etihad Campus in the black 4x4 from their temporary home at Manchester's Radisson Blue hotel in the city centre for Sane's first training session at his new club.

Gundogan arrived early in the summer window for a fee of £21million, while Sane's move was made official on Tuesday for a fee of £37m.

The German pair were joined by fellow stars Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling for the session on Wednesday.

And boss Guardiola has claimed he will waste no time in moulding young Sane, 20, in his image, while Sane claimed Pep was a huge reason in him leaving Schalke for City.

He said: "I followed Pep at Barcelona and at Bayern where he achieved a lot and worked really well with young players.

"I think he can make me a more complete player.

"I think I will need a bit of time to start with because it's another league and there's a different style of play but I think I can adapt very quickly."

Meanwhile, Gundogan still has a way to go, as he recovers from his dislocated knee, sustained in May with former club Dortmund.

However, he is confident of a return early in the new season, saying: "I hope to be ready as soon as possible.

"It seems like it will be the end of August or in September but it is hard to say."
