Hernan Crespo believes the combination of Jose Mourinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will turn Manchester United into world beaters again
Former Chelsea forward believes the pair have the same winning mentality which will spread to the fans
JOSE MOURINHO and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have a strong bond — the sheer desire to win.
And the prospect of the duo sparking a new glory era at Old Trafford has whetted the appetite of Manchester United fans.
They may have mocked Mourinho when he appeared on the touchline in Chelsea gear — although that was as much fear as disdain. They knew he built a team which had purpose and steel.
Plenty of them, too, laughed at Ibrahimovic, who arrived in other colours, even when he was proving himself a serial winner across six clubs and four countries.
“He’s never done it at English clubs,” was the mantra. “He’s a show pony, no more.”
But those fallow years have altered the mindset.
What matters now, above all, is to get United hands on the Premier League trophy again.
And in the form of the Portuguese egotist with his air of determination and the Swedish superstar
who believes he transcends mere mortals, something different does seem in the air.
As Hernan Crespo, a former team-mate of the Swede under Mourinho at Inter Milan, pointed out: “The two of them can turn Manchester United into winners again.
