Real Madrid turn attentions to Nemanja Matic or Marco Verratti after missing out on Manchester United-bound Paul Pogba
ZINEDINE ZIDANE is has drawn up a list of potential incomings which includes Nemanja Matic and Marco Verratti after missing out on Paul Pogba, according to reports in Spain.
The French midfield star is on the verge of joining Manchester United in a world-record £112million — a fee the European champions are not willing to match.
Zidane has identified the centre of midfield as the only position he would like to strengthen this summer, and Newcastle midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, appears to be his No.1 choice.
Pogba’s France team-mate impressed as the hosts finished runners-up at Euro 2016 and could be available at around £30m.
While another Frenchman — Blaise Matuidi — is another potential target,
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has been linked with United as back-up to Pogba.
Unai Emery’s decision to bring in Grzegorz Krychowiak appears to have paved the way for Matuidi’s exit.
Chelsea ace, Matic, ha also crept onto Zidane’s radar.
The Serb’s place is under serious threat with the summer arrival of N’Golo Kante.
However, Juventus will offer stern competition as they see Matic as an ideal replacement for an Old Trafford-bound Pogba.
The jewel in the crown would be PSG’s Verratti.
