MANCHESTER UNITED could still lose Paul Pogba to Real Madrid after manager Zinedine Zidane revealed the Galacticos are still in the hunt.

United have been chasing the midfielder all summer, making desperate attempts to land their own one-time academy kid for a world record fee, but the player and his agent have toyed with the Premier League side side so far.

Madrid meanwhile, who can easily afford the 23-year-old and offer him the Champions League football he would miss out on at Europa League hopefuls United, have been playing it cool.

Due to United’s fall from grace they are willing to stump up around £105m for the starlet Sir Alex Ferguson released for free, pay him close to £220,000-a-week and gift super-agent Mino Raiola at least half of the £25m finder’s fee he's demanding.

But the player apparently prefers a move to sunny Spain and Zizou has revealed, ahead of the International Champions Cup clash with PSG, that United could still be blown out the water.

The former playmaker said: “In this moment we are still working [on a move for Pogba], and I cannot say anything more.

“Until August 31 anything can happen, but today he is not a Real Madrid player and I cannot talk about what will happen.

“I always say how things are, but now is not the time to talk about this. A lot of clubs are interested in Pogba.

“Real Madrid always want the best players. But we owe Juventus respect and I can't say anything more out of respect.”

Juventus don’t appear to be getting much respect from their player or his agent after they posted a picture online of the them laughing in an eternity pool as they take an age to decide on his future.

The Turin side have their title-winning players back in action, deep in pre-season training in sweltering Melbourne, Australia.

In what has been perceived as a sly dig at their want-away player and his roly-poly advisor, the club posted a picture of some squad members on a run with the cryptic caption: “Some are at work in the pool, while for others... the hard yards await.”
