MANCHESTER CITY are closing in on a double swoop for £67 million rated pair Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus.

However Etihad sources say while the two parties are still apart, there is hope the situation can be resolved quickly.

Schalke's director of football Christian Heidel suggested they are keen on an agreement - with Sane pushing for the move.

He said: "Like us, Manchester City also must think about itself, as both teams have to take into account the further planning in the transfer market."

City counterpart Txiki Begiristain remains in China and moved on to Shenzhen with the players earlier today.

However he is in regular contact with Palmeiras over 19-year-old strike sensation Jesus - who has also decided he wants to join City.

Several of Europe's top clubs - including Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan - have been chasing the youngster all summer.

However Guardiola's intervention has turned his head - although his Brazilian club will keep hold of him until December at least as part of the agreement.

City insiders say they are very close to finalising the agreement for Jesus - with the different time zones causing a slight delay.
