But Poch, who is preparing for Tottenham’s Aussie friendly against Juventus at the MCG tomorrow, said: “I think the speculation is normal because I am an Argentinian coach at a top club in England.

“There are a lot of rumours that appear but I am very happy at Tottenham and so for that reason this is not the right moment for me.”

Argentina are looking for a new manager after Gerardo Martino quit following their penalty shootout defeat to Chile in the Copa America final.

Pochettino is contracted to Tottenham until 2021 after he signed a new five-and-a-half deal last season on his way to guiding the club to third in the Premier League.

His plans are well under way for next season having snapped up Victor Wanyama from Southampton in an £11million move, before bagging Dutch international striker Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar for £18.8m.

And he has started to wield the axe after chopping four players from Spurs' pre-season trip to Australia.

Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton Njie, Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard all face uncertain futures at White Hart Lane after Poch left them at home.
