Liverpool transfer news: Anfield chiefs set to make one last ditch bid to sign Ben Chilwell from champions Leicester
Jurgen Klopp is determined to try for left-back despite Foxes offering a new five-year deal
LIVERPOOL will make a last ditch bid to sign left back Ben Chilwell from champions Leicester City.
Jurgen Klopp is desperate for the England under-21 defender and Brad Smith is on the verge of a move to Bournemouth in a shock deal to make space for him.
Chilwell is being offered a new five-year deal to stay with the Foxes, but the Kop think he would be prepared to come to them after being left in the shadows at the King Power stadium.
Klopp thinks Chilwell is a long-term Liverpool player and he will offer around £8 million for him and offer the player a similar length of contract.
Chilwell played for Leicester against Celtic at the weekend but he was overlooked last season and sent to Huddersfield on loan.
He excelled at the Championship club and returned to the Premier League winners hoping to break into the first-team this term.
Liverpool have been after Chilwell for months and the player knows their interest is genuine. Leicester also know the threat and want him to commit to them instead.
