Gabriel Jesus set for Manchester United bid as Red Devils look to beat Manchester City to Brazilian wonderkid’s signature
United boss Jose Mourinho prepared to outbid Citizens chief Pep Guardiola as European elite fight to sign 19-year-old
MANCHESTER UNITED are poised to gazump Manchester City in the pursuit of Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus.
The two Manchester clubs are in the hunt for the Palmeiras forward, with a clutch of elite European clubs desperate to net the man dubbed the 'new Neymar.'
Jesus has previously admitted it would be "a dream" to play for Barcelona, with Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich also keen to bag the 19-year-old.
According to reports in Brazil, the Red Devils are willing to stretch to £29million - around £2.5m more than Pep Guardiola's City.
But that is inconsistent with the theory that Jesus can leave for either United, Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain, Real and Barca for just £20m, with any other club needing to stump up £33.5m to trigger talks.
Palmeiras are determined to hold on to Jesus, whose contract runs until 2019 in his home city of Sao Paulo.
Earlier this summer Jesus appeared set to have dealt a blow to the likes of Guardiola and Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho by committing his short-term future to the Brazilian club.
He said: “With regards to a move to Europe, it has already been sorted.
