Portuguese star makes switch to Catalan giants after lengthy transfer saga involving four clubs
SPANISH champions Barcelona have a secured a £41.7million deal for Manchester United and Chelsea target Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder, 22, starred for his country as they lifted Euro 2016 and has been a mainstay for Valencia for the past two seasons.
And despite interest from England, Gomes has opted to stay in Spain and make the switch to the Nou Camp.
Barca have added Denis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne to their already strong squad this summer and look poised for another bold quadruple bid.
Gomes began his career at Benfica before impressing on a season-long loan deal with Valencia, which earnt him a permanent move.
A tall but atletic midfidler, he scored five goals in all competitions last term and made 41 appearances.
