Everton transfers news: Ronald Koeman eyes up £25million swoop for Swansea and Iceland star Gylfi Sigurdsson
Cultured midfielder targeted by the Dutchman as transfer dealings accelerate at Goodison following takeover
EVERTON are ready to begin their summer spending and are preparing a £25million bid for Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Icelandic star, 26, was excellent at Euro 2016 and has impressed during his four seasons in the Premier League.
Following the appointment of Steve Walsh as Director of Football last night , Ronald Koeman is keen to begin adding to his squad.
And with a hefty warchest following the takeover from Farhad Moshiri, the former Southampton boss has identified Sigurdsson as his top target.
He joined the Swans from Tottenham in 2014 and has established himself as a set-piece specialist at the Liberty Stadium.
Koeman sees him as the ideal man to star in Everton's central midfield next term - but Swansea won't let Sigurdsson leave without a fight.
