Midfielder Alex Song heads off to Russia on a free transfer with Rubin Kazan
Former Arsenal star and West Ham loanee opts for new start after being told he's not wanted at Barcelona
ALEX SONG is on his way to Rubin Kazan.
The former Arsenal midfielder and West Ham loanee is set to sign for the Russian Premier Leaguers on a free transfer.
Song, 28, has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona, who have made it clear the Cameroon star is not in head coach Luis Enrique's plans for the coming season.
Song, who spent the last two seasons on loan at West Ham, joined Barca from Arsenal in 2012 but never really made his mark.
Apparently, he was not even given a date to begin pre-season training at the Nou Camp so the writing was on the wall.
