Song, 28, has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona, who have made it clear the Cameroon star is not in head coach Luis Enrique's plans for the coming season.

Song, who spent the last two seasons on loan at West Ham, joined Barca from Arsenal in 2012 but never really made his mark.

Apparently, he was not even given a date to begin pre-season training at the Nou Camp so the writing was on the wall.

Last season the midfielder made just 15 appearances for the Hammers thanks to a succession of injuries having enjoyed a highly successful first year in East London under Sam Allardyce.

Song, who started his career at French side Bastia, joined Arsenal where he spent seven seasons before moving to the Catalan giants, where he made 65 appearances in two seasons.
