Man City announce Kayky transfer as 17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid joins from Fluminense at end of season
MANCHESTER CITY have confirmed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Kayky for £9million.
The Cityzens have swooped to beat off competition from abroad to land the Fluminese ace.
He will arrive in Manchester this summer - remaining at the Brazilian club for the rest of this season.
A statement from the Premier League leaders said: “We are delighted to confirm we have reached an agreement with Fluminese regarding the future transfer of Kayky.
“The teenage forward will remain with Fluminese until the end of the Brazilian season.”
City have been linked with the forward since the start of the year but are now believed to have tied him down to a five-year contract.
City are looking for striking reinforcements as they prepare for life without Sergio Aguero next season.
Their all-time top goalscorer, 32, has announced he is leaving the club after an epic decade-long reign of success at the Etihad.
However, Sun Sport understands that Kayky may have to wait a while yet to line-up alongside countryman Gabriel Jesus in attack.
City plan to loan the forward out next season to help his development rather than put him straight into their first-team squad.

But they have high hopes for the Samba starlet, and there remains the possibility that he could be brought back to help Pep Guardiola’s side in January should he impress elsewhere.
City have been linked with the forward since the start of the year but are now believed to have tied him down to a five-year contract.
Kayky is a product of the Fluminense academy, which has produced the likes of Real Madrid legend Marcelo and Liverpool's Fabinho.
Dubbed the 'next Neymar' in his homeland, the forward is blessed with pace and close-control.
Kayky was top scorer in the Brasileirao Under-17 Championship.
Speaking about Kayky, Fluminense's U17 coach, Guilherme Torres, told : “Kayky is a player who stands out a lot for his technical quality, especially with regard to one-on-ones, and also in his quality in front of goal.
“He is also very intelligent, searches for empty spaces on the field and has a good ability to provide assists for his team-mates.
“In addition, he has a winning, competitive mentality, which is important for a high-level player. His resilience has grown as he has matured, and he is learning how to deal with adversity.”
City are also said to be interested in bringing Metinho to the club from Fluminense.
