Austria will face Italy at Wembley in the last 16 of Euro 2020 after progressing from the group stage at a European Championship for the first time in their history.

Franco Foda’s men thoroughly deserved their win against a below-par and lethargic Ukraine thanks to a first-half goal from Christoph Baumgartner who, at 21 years and 324 days, became the youngest scorer at Euro 2020.

The result means Ukraine finish on three points, fewer than Switzerland who came third in Group A, with a goal difference of -1. 

Ukraine will now need a few results to go their way if they’re to scrape through to the knockout stages.
