Forget Roma’s 16-0 victory – German side Erzgebirge Aue win pre-season friendly 31-0 over VFC Reichenbach 96
It was 12-0 at half time as star forward Dimitrij Nazarov bags seven goals for the 2 Bundesliga side
ROMA won a pre-season friendly 16-0 over the weekend.
But even that was not a big enough score to match that of German side Erzgebirge Aue – who won 31-0 in a summer clash with VFC Reichenbach 96.
New signing Dimitrij Nazarov netted SEVEN times for the Bundesliga 2 side, who play in the division below the German top flight.
Team-mate Nicky Adler grabbed four, then there were three each for Cebio Soukou, Pascal Kopke and Mario Kvesic.
They were 12-0 up at half time – and bagged the other 19 goals after the break.
Aue – who have been a regular club in the second tier of German football – bounced back to Bundesliga 2 after relegation in 2014-15.
They have a strong history though under their previous name of SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt.
Before the end of the Cold War, they were East Germany’s strongest club, winning the FDGB-Pokal in 1955, but have failed to recapture the glory days post-unification.
