Bradford sign Blackpool goalkeeper Colin Doyle for £1 after triggering release clause
The League One outfit trigged a release clause in the keeper's contract following the Seasiders' relegation
BRADFORD CITY have confirmed the signing of Blackpool goalkeeper Colin Doyle – and the stopper cost them the princely sum of £1.
Bradford took to their Twitter account to confirm Doyle has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.
They wrote: "Goalkeeper Colin Doyle arrives on a two-year deal from @BlackpoolFC"
Bradford confirmed on their official website they had trigged a release clause in the 6' 5" keeper's contract.
Doyle has jumped ship from the Seasiders following their relegation to League Two.
Speaking to League One Bradford's official website, he said: "Last year at Blackpool didn't go right after getting relegated, it's just one of those things we didn't get right.

"Moving here now I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we can push on and see if we can get up that League as high as we can.
"Bradford are a big club and I'm looking forward to getting down to business here.
"You want to play in front of big crowds as a professional footballer and I'm looking forward to doing that here."
Despite Blackpool's disappointing season, the former Birmingham City stopper impressed by keeping 11 clean sheets in 35 games.
Following his move to Bradford, Doyle has reunited with former goalkeeping coach Steve Banks who he worked with at Blackpool.
He has won one cap for Ireland and previously spent 12 years at Birmingham but managed just 64 appearances.
Doyle is Bradford boss Stuart McCall's third summer signing after landing defender Nathaniel Knight-Percival and midfielder Nicky Law on free transfers from Shrewsbury and Rangers respectively.
