ARSENAL will not sell Alexis Sanchez this summer despite Juventus submitting a bid which met the Gunners’ valuation.

That’s according to Juve sporting director Giuseppe Marotta, who claims the Italians were told £34million would be enough to land the Chilean – only to see their bid snubbed by Arsene Wenger.

Juventus have made Sanchez their top attacking target ahead of the new Serie A season after losing Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid.

Simone Zaza has also been linked with a move away from Turin, and although Paulo Dybala remains committed following a bid from Barcelona, Max Allegri looks light on options up front.

Reports earlier this week claimed Juventus had failed with a £26m offer for Sanchez after the Chilean’s agent reportedly told Arsenal his client is ready to leave the Emirates.

And Juve chief Marotta admits his side did make a move for the talismanic forward, although he claims the fee was significantly higher and that Arsenal had quoted the number themselves before rejecting the offer when it was actually submitted.

Sanchez has just two years remaining on his current Emirates contract, and Arsenal are desperate to tie the player down to a new deal.

But Wenger will be hoping some new signings will convince the Chilean to stay, with Barcelona’s Arda Turan a reported target.

However, a move for Lille’s Djibril Sidibe has come to nothing after the full-back agreed to join Monaco instead.
