Bastian Schweinsteiger to Paris Saint-Germain: Manchester United midfielder offered escape from Premier League hell by French giants

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN could rescue Bastian Schweinsteiger from his Premier League hell.

The French giants are reportedly keen on snapping up the Manchester United star, 31, this summer.

United have had no formal approach for the midfielder but are understood to be open to talks.

Jose Mourinho has not made any clear-cut decisions over his squad having only been unveiled as manager on Tuesday.

Schweinsteiger, currently representing Germany at Euro 2016, scored one goal in 31 appearances for the the Red Devils.

The former Bayern Munich star, who joined the Old Trafford club in a £6.5million deal last summer, has been plagued with injuries in his first Prem season.

He had been all-but ruled out of Germany's semi-final showdown with France after sustaining minor knee ligament damage in the quarter-final win over Italy, but has brushed off the injury and is now set to take feature.

Schweinsteiger has been used sparingly by Joachim Low this tournament as he enters the twilight of his glistening career.

The Bayern legend scored after coming on as a substitute against Ukraine but missed his penalty in the shootout against Italy.

PSG physio Dario Fort could join Zlatan Ibrahimovic in making the switch to United. The Italian is due to speak with sporting director Olivier Letang in the coming days.
