Bonucci, 29, was a stand out for the Juve AND the Azzurri under Conte in the Euros, and he is desperate for their relationship to continue.

City have been interested in a deal, but Bonucci would rather head for Chelsea - with the terms on offer not his driving force.

Bonucci came on strong at Juve and Conte knows he would fit right in at Chelsea despite his age and the large price on his head.

Conte also thinks Juve will sell and the lack of a City move has only served to spark an auction that he believes will end in his favour.
