Manchester United ready to re-sign Juventus ace Paul Pogba for world-record £100million

Frenchman left Old Trafford for nothing in 2012 but Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring midfielder back this summer

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to re-sign Juventus ace Paul Pogba for a world-record £100m.

They are also willing to make the French playmaker one of the richest players on the planet by offering him a five-year deal worth a whopping £78m.

United boss Jose Mourinho hopes that will persuade Pogba to return to the club.

The incredible nine-figure fee would break the current record of £86m Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale in September 2013.

It was thought United would have to pay a similar amount to land Pog.

But it now seems they are set to splash out even more for a player they let leave for NOTHING four years ago.

The midfielder, 23, caused controversy when he quit French club Le Havre at 16 to join United’s academy.

He then created more fury when he moved to Juventus at the end of his United contract in 2012.

Former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said at the time: “I don’t think he showed us any respect, so to be honest I am quite happy.”

Real Madrid are also interested but United hope their willingness to pay Pogba an eye-watering £300,000 a week will get him.
