By then Conte, who has joined up with Chelsea following Italy's exit from Euro 2016, may have a fair idea of the improvements needed, but players will have another chance to prove their worth in the International Champions Cup in the US.

This will obviously include their new £33m signing from Marseille Michy Batshuayi.

Chelsea open up against Liverpool on July 27, and then face Real Madrid on July 30 and then AC Milan on August 3.
