Neymar confirms for first time he wants to STAY at PSG amid Barcelona transfer interest and begs Mbappe to renew deal
NEYMAR has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will put talk of his future to bed by signing a new Paris Saint-Germain contract.
The Brazilian was being heavily linked with a return to Barcelona with his deal in France expiring next summer.
With just 18 months left on his deal at PSG, the club would be forced to cash in this summer or face losing their star asset for nothing.
Barcelona had been contemplating his return while Neymar was flirting with his former club.
Last summer he looked braced to join the Nou Camp after telling pals he was pushing for a switch.
But Barcelona's interest appears to have cooled with the club's dreadful finances laid bare due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And now it appears Neymar is ready to commit to Mauricio Pochettino's project.
Speaking to TF1, he said: "I am happy today. I am truly happy.
"Things have changed a lot. I can’t exactly explain why.
"But today, I am feeling good. I have adapted. I am more calm and I am more happy. I want to stay at PSG."
Team-mate Kylian Mbappe is in the same boat with his contract also expiring in 2022.
And Neymar has also begged his fellow superstar to join him in signing a new contract.
He added: "I also want Kylian to stay.
"We want PSG to be a great team. I want to continue to play football and be happy, that is the most important thing.”
