Midfielder scraps marriage plans to make himself available for Chris Coleman's crunch semi-final in Lyon on Wednesday

WALES hero Joe Ledley has done a Jamie Vardy and postponed his wedding in order to play at Euro 2016.

Leicester star Vardy was forced to scrap marriage plans after receiving a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s ill-fated 23-man squad.

And Crystal Palace midfielder Ledley has followed suit by putting his weekend wedding on hold so he can be available for Chris Coleman.

But unlike Vardy, Ledley is putting himself in the frame for a shock semi-final clash against Portugal on Wednesday following Wales’ stunning win over Belgium last Friday.

Marc Wilmots’ men took an early lead through Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, but the Welsh fought back as goals from Ashley Williams, Hal Robson-Kanu and Sam Vokes turned the match on its head.

And Coleman will be relying heavily on experiences aces like Ledley as Wales look to cope with a number of big suspensions.

But leader Gareth Bale reckons all minds are focused firmly on Wednesday night, saying: “[Ledley’s] obviously booked [the wedding] a long time ago, before qualifying.

“These things do happen to pop up. The boys are fully focused on the task in hand and I’m sure they’ll re-organise stuff.

“The atmosphere is still the same, we are joking around, doing our quizzers, I won again today.

“It is still the same spirit and we are trying to enjoy the occasion. We are enjoying the ride and it is a great journey to be on. We are joking around and having a laugh.”
