MORNING MAN UTD NEWS
The Red Devils have been drawn away against Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-final in what is the standout tie of the round.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will face the Foxes on the weekend of March 20.
In other news, Paul Pogba is reportedly being chased in a three-way transfer battle this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all keen on the Manchester United star.
United sources claim Pogba remains happy at the Theatre of Dreams.
But Romano says the World Cup winner, currently out injured with a thigh problem, is set to receive some tempting offers.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has also commented on his client’s future, as he said: “Paul Pogba to Juventus?
"I can’t speak about Pogba because people are nervous, they don't sleep at night.
"I have to work quietly... If I speak, someone gets offended."
Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani has been hit with a two-match international ban for his horror tackle on Everton’s Richarlison.
The 33-year-old striker received a straight red as his Uruguay side lost 2-0 to Brazil in a World Cup qualifier in November.
Cavani’s nation now face two crunch qualifying matches at the end of next month against Argentina and Bolivia.
And finally, Jadon Sancho is '90 per cent' likely to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The United target is one of eight players that the German giants could sell at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Sancho is set to be up for grabs during the next transfer window.
SOL SEARCHING
Harry Maguire 'is not a leader' and should be replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to former Manchester United defender Paul Parker.
The ex-England international, 56, said: "Despite the position that Manchester United find themselves in the Premier League, they still need to strengthen in the transfer market this summer.
"Regarding the centre-backs, people talk about bringing in a new partner for Harry Maguire, but I would look at bringing in two centre-backs, why can’t it be a player who comes in and plays alongside Victor Lindelof?
"Harry Maguire is not a leader, he plays the game for himself, he sits way too deep, he dribbles for the sake of dribbling and runs himself into cul-de-sacs."
Before adding: "I have always been unsure about Maguire since the day Manchester United signed him. When they paid £80m, the club didn’t buy an £80m centre back, it was great business by Leicester."
DUTCH COURAGE
Euro 2021 hopeful Timothy Fosu-Mensah admits he left Manchester United for more game-time - but only has praise for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Mail report him as saying: "Ole has been very good to me.
"I spoke with him because he had a big injury as a player so he knew exactly how I felt.
"When I played against Crystal Palace after 16 months out he was very happy for me. These were very good moments.
"He knew I had the quality. I have no bad things to say about him."
RONSTOPPABLE
What a scorer this was from Cristiano Ronaldo.
And to think this wasn't even the best goal he scored against Portsmouth...
POG'S CHOICE
Paul Pogba is reportedly being chased in a three-way transfer battle this summer.
Linking Pogba’s potential next destination with the future of sought-after Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar, Romano explained: “The key for the future of Aouar would be Pogba.
“Some clubs are looking for both players, like PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid. No one is going to sign both players.”
LAUR AND ORDER
Man Utd star Lauren James has condemned the appalling racist abuse she has received on social media.
In a column for the Telegraph, she wrote: "Over the weekend was the first time that I’d experienced racist abuse on social media.
“But it wasn’t the first time that I’d been made to feel aware of the colour of my skin. Part of me has wondered if we as athletes can take control of this by coming offline, by deleting our social media accounts.
“But the other part, the stronger part, says no. It would show the trolls that they are winning, and we can’t let that happen. I’m 19 years old and I’m sitting here, writing about racist abuse.
“All because of the colour of my skin. It is mad. I'm proud of my skin, I love my skin colour. But when I saw the comments on my Instagram feed, it hurt.
“Facebook have announced that they will take tougher sanctions on abusive messages. It’s a great start but more needs to be done by social media platforms to put an end to this.”
FOX HUNT
Manchester United have been drawn away against Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Meanwhile their rivals Manchester City will travel to Everton in the last eight.
Should Chelsea beat Barnsley, they will face Sheffield United in what is another favourable tie for the Blues.
And finnaly, there will be a south coast derby between Bournemouth and Southampton.
PARKER CONTINUED
"You have got to keep players as positive as you can and tell them they can win the Premier League.
"Some of those players with their egos will be thinking that they will win things at Manchester United, if a manager does not believe it is the case, how is a player ever going to?
"Instead of taking the pressure off people, he is adding it. I find it very strange that he would say something like that after drawing at home to Everton who has one of the best away records in the Premier League.
"Manchester United have got to be positive, so there’s no way he should be saying they’re not in the race, they were top of the league two weeks ago.”
SOL HOPE
EXCLUSIVE - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal of Manchester United as title contenders is 'silly' and could shatter his players' confidence, according to former Red Devil Paul Parker.
The former defender, 56, said: "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying that Manchester United were not in the title race was a silly comment to make.
"Regardless of what team it is, if you are sitting second in the table, and only a few points behind the leader, you must believe you're in the title race.
"Even if Manchester United don’t have staying power, or the squad, you should never admit your shortcomings to opponents that might be listening.
"Manchester United have got to enjoy the position they find themselves in, but you simply can’t just say they’re not in the hunt for the title."
LOST HIS ED
Edinson Cavani has been hit with a two-match international ban for his horror tackle on Everton’s Richarlison.
The 33-year-old striker received a straight red as his Uruguay side lost 2-0 to Brazil in a World Cup qualifier in November.
Cavani’s nation now face two crunch qualifying matches at the end of next month against Argentina and Bolivia.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli striker will not be available for either game.
ON THE PAUL
Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has commented on the possibility of the Man Utd midfielder returning to Juventus,
Quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, he said: "Paul Pogba to Juventus?
"I can’t speak about Pogba because people are nervous, they don't sleep at night.
"I have to work quietly... If I speak, someone gets offended."
SPLASH THE CASH
Man Utd are reportedly ready to hand boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a huge transfer warchest this summer.
Red Devils chief Ed Woodward is prepared to spend 'significant sums' in the next transfer window, according to the Manchester Evening News.
A centre-back to partner Harry Maguire remains top priority with the club also looking to bring in an attacking force.
SunSport looks at five potential signings United could make now the cash is available.
CLick HERE to see who could be brought in.
EATING HIS GREENS
Solskjaer also heaped praise on the role of Uruguayan Cavani on Greenwood's development this season.
The Norwegian added: "He's improved and matured immensely, and he's working with some of the top forwards in the country, of course.
"He's learning off them, and it's exciting to see that he's come over his blip and is playing really well."
NOT SO GREEN
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Mason Greenwood as 'different class' and revealed the teenager has 'matured immensely'.
Ahead of the FA Cup win over West Ham, Solskjaer said: "Ah, Mason was different class.
"I thought he was the standout performer on the pitch [against Everton]. He just didn't get the goal that his performance deserved.
"I think the last few games, if you look at him closely – yeah, I know we scored nine against Southampton – but if you look at his performance, I thought his performance was top."
SARR SUBJECT
Ismaila Sarr's agent has revealed the Watford star agreed a move to Liverpool last month - only for the Reds to fail to come up with his transfer fee.
Senegalese advisor Thierno Seydi also shed light on Manchester United's abortive bid to capture Sarr during the close season.
He told PanAfricanFootball: "United wanted Sarr during the summer window, and at the last moment they proposed a loan without the option to buy.
"But Watford didn't accept it. They wanted the loan to be accompanied with a sale option, with United having pre-emptive rights."
WHAT'S THE POINT?
This time last season Liverpool were charging towards their first league title in 30 years.
After the same amount of games this term, Jurgen Klopp's struggling side have picked up 27 fewer points.
However, it's a different story for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United side.
The Red Devils have 11 more points now than they did at this stage of last season.
RY SMILE
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wrote an amazingly supportive letter to a fan struggling with mental health issues.
The Norwegian sent a classy reply to Red Devils fan Ryan after he spoke openly about his struggles on talkSPORT last month.
It read: "Dear Ryan, just wanted to drop you a line to say I am so glad you are doing well.
"It’s heartwarming to hear that Manchester United and Andy’s Man Club have kept you going through difficult times.
"We are living in strange times at the moment and we know it’s difficult for a lot of people.
"However, I was delighted to hear you now have a spring in your step.
"Once we get back to normal I’d love to invite you to a match or to watch training. In the meantime, we want you to keep that spring in your step and we will be doing all we can on the field.
"Take care, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.”
RAVVED UP
Wilfried Zaha claimed frustration at Ravel Morrison trying to play like Ronaldinho led to the pair clashing as team-mates on the pitch with England under-21s.
The two players shoved each other during the 5-0 win over Lithuania in 2013 as tempers boiled over between the two players.
Speaking to the On the Judy podcast, Zaha said: “He was just getting me mad. He was moving like he was Ronaldinho and the rest of us were just no-one.
“He was getting the ball and he was just doing tricks and the only time he passes it if he really needs to and we're just stood there with our hands on our hips while he's going past six Lithuanian players.
“And it's just like what are you doing?’.
“It was that easy - the team that we had, we had such good players and we can all do that, we can all hog the ball and go past all of them but we're not doing it. We're trying to be professional, play properly but he was just on his own thing.”
ROB-BING SHOULDERS
Exclusive by John Hutchinson: Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping his new neighbour isn't a noisy one - after Liverpool star Andy Robertson moved into his road.
The Scottish left-back has splashed out £3.3million on a new mansion not far from the Manchester United legend.
The two clubs are of course great rivals, but at least the pair can chat about their Scottish roots if Premier League talk gets too heated.
WHERE THERE'S A WIL
Zaha made just two appearances for United as he was swallowed up by the size of the club, a youngster away from home for the first time still trying to learn the ropes as a pro and grown into an adult away from the pitch.
Since rejoining boyhood club Palace he has flourished into one of the most feared attacking players in the Premier League – and he still maintains he was to move to United despite what happened.
He told the On Judy Podcast: Right place at the wrong time, really. I look back and think there's nothing else I could have really done.
“That whole period, people ask me if I regret it but no. It's a learning curve, it made me so much stronger mentally, I met some amazing players, some amazing people over there. I'm glad I went there and it made me who I am now.
WIL I NEVER
The situation really hit him when Zaha found himself so alone at Christmas he ended up spending the morning with then Bolton boss Dougie Freedman – now director of football at Palace.
He told the On Judy Podcast: “Under Van Gaal, I remember the Christmas. I knew I wasn't gonna play or whatever. But I still got taken.
“On Christmas Day you spend the morning with the family and then in the afternoon you report. But then because I was by myself, I had no one for Christmas - alone basically.
“And then, Doug he called me because he was in Manchester with his family. I ended up spending that Christmas morning at his house with his family because I had no one.
“After that I went and travelled, but I was thinking I wanted to go home to my family, I know I'm not gonna play. But I travelled in the evening, and I was in the stands the next day.”
THEATRE OF DOOM
Wilfried Zaha admitted his painful experience at Manchester United left him depressed and with his mind in a mess.
Speaking on the On Judy Podcast, he said: “I was in a very bad place, literally going out all the time, doing mad stuff. I was a mess.
“My brother was up there at first with his family, but then he had to go back so I was just by myself throughout the whole David Moyes period - that's when I just went through depression and all sorts.
“I couldn't cook so I wasn't even eating proper.
“When you know you're not playing, the team are training and you're just stood on the side doing some training drill.
“I remember it was just me and Kagawa doing some shooting drill just the two of us. So you know they don't care about you basically. Not even training with the Under 23s, week in week out. You're not getting a look in.”
AMAD FOR IT
Manchester United's Under-23s coach Neil Wood admitted he must allow Amad Diallo time to settle into English football.
He said: “You see he has ability and he’s linking up well. He doesn’t really have a relationship with any of these boys here. He came to Liverpool [last] Saturday and did well and the same [against Blackburn].
“He’s training with the first team and doing well and he’s still new to England and the style of football in England so it’s going to take time and like all young players you have to be patient with them. He’s gaining more confidence as the days go on.”
DON BUT NOT DUSTED
Manchester United icon Bryan Robson is another to offer up his support for Donny van de Beek.
He told the club's website: “Some players take a little bit longer than other players.
“I think the problem for Donny, at the moment, is trying to impress the manager and get straight into the team when Bruno Fernandes has been playing magnificently.
“In the way he plays, they are very similar roles, and then the re-emergence of Paul Pogba over the last couple of months, before his injury, has been really good.
“Paul was playing how we know he can play and so that made it very difficult to get Donny into the team. But I've been impressed by some of his qualities. I can see he's a worker; he's just got to be a little bit patient.
“When he gets his chance [like against West Ham], he has got to impress Ole, as the manager.”
WET HIS BEEK
Old Trafford legends Dwight Yorke has thrown his weight behind Donny van de Beek.
He told the club's website: “I feel for players because they come in with a big fee and expectations at a football club like United.
“He's got to be frustrated and I can understand why – because he's joined a club and has expected to be playing. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite happen for him but he'll show resilience and has to continue to believe in himself. This is where man-management comes in: to make sure he keeps his head up, his fitness and his belief that he will get more chances.
“There are different circumstances for different players. But I've seen players struggle from the start and not gone straight in.
“So, as far as I'm concerned, Donny will try to prove himself and show he deserves more chances.”
